    In tribute to music that inspires!
    Music has always been a critical element in my writing process. I can neither sing well nor play a musical instrument. Yet, I adore and find inspiration in music. My first novel was inspired by a song on the radio when I was twelve. I play certain songs to fit certain stories and/or characters while I write. You know it is going to be a harsh scene if you hear "Nine Inch Nails" coming from my speakers. I have over 45,000 songs saved to my hard drive and pick songs that suit my needs for writing. My family isn't sure which is worse - when I put all of them on random play or load in a specific play list.

    So it should not be a surprise that several songs played key roles in my recent fics. In particular, Who Would Have Thought by Darren Hayes was so inspirational that we used nearly every word of the lyrics in A Love So Belated and A Heart So Ravenous (many in chapter titles). Several of his other songs have also contributed to the story including Insatiable and So Beautiful. Even the music video released with the song Who Would Have Thought feels like it was made with Draco in mind - white paper bird in a guilded cage in a mansion escapes to fly in the sky. The paper bird always makes me think of Draco's "note" to Harry.

    LJ and Adult Content - Restricted Journals
    Livejournal.com has instituted a new feature that allows (but essentially requires) those of us who have "adult content" to code our journals as such so that no one under age has access to said materials.

    If you list a birthdate on your lj account that shows you as under the age of 18, large segments of my journal will no longer be available to you. I have repeatedly asked that users like that not friend this journal anyway, so I have no problem with that part.

    The difficulty may arise from readers who either don't list a birthdate in the profile. (I didn't until today because I don't like to give out personal information like that.) Or those readers who don't have an account. I think you will have to both have an account and list an appropriate birthdate to be able to continue reading my fiction here. I do archive at two other sites if this is a problem for you.

    EDIT: Apparently, if you don't have an LJ account or are not logged in, it just asks you to click a statement verifying that you are 18 or over. Not a problem, IMHO.

    Just though I should give you all a heads up!
