Unexpected - Announcement
Well, it looks like we will soon begin posting Unexpected, the sequel to Undesirable. aveeno_baby and I are currently working with brknhalo241 on rewrites of the last chapters of the novel. The rest is currently with betas asm614 and Mini Mouse for edits and proof-reading. It is currently around forty chapters, though that may contract or expand a little as we do those last rewrites.

I am hoping that we will begin posting within the next week. My plan is to post a chapter every Monday and Wednesday.

Unexpected is also a change of pace for us. Where Undesirable was very much a Hurt/Comfort fic with serious Darkfic flashbacks, Unexpected is much lighter. It essentially began as an epilogue for the first book. We wanted to give Harry his dream, his happy ending. So the book tends to be a combination of fluff and smut with some comedy and a thread of angst. Harry is still a changed person, as anyone who had been through the events of the first book, would be. This story focusses on his struggle to achieve the dreams he holds -- a domestic life that includes not only Draco, their pets and his friends, but a child as well. The desire for a family of his own seems, to me, to be one of those essential characteristics of Harry Potter, no matter what else we do with him.

We have tried to write Unexpected in such a way that those who haven't read Undesirable will still enjoy it. I do think that it would be better with having read the first one though. So, if you are new to this journal and haven't read Undesirable, now might be a good time to try that one so that you will be caught up when we begin posting.

For those who read the first but would like a refresher of the timing or who will not be reading Undesirable, we are including a timeline for the events. Warning: Spoilers for Undesirable:



Undesirable Timeline:

June 1997 – End of HBP, Dumbledore dies. Snape takes Draco to France and leaves him in hiding. Harry and friends begin hunting Horcruxes.

Spring 1999 – Harry destroys the last Horcrux but is captured and held prisoner by Voldemort.

Spring 2000 – Harry kills Voldemort. End of war. Harry is taken to St Mungo’s but released after a couple months.

Summer 2000 – Harry is readmitted and institutionalized in St. Mungos. Draco comes out of hiding in France.

Fall 2000 – Draco begins attending Beauxbatons.

Summer 2001 – Draco finishes at Beauxbatons and begins training as a Healer n France.

Spring 2002 – Draco finishes both training and first internship as a Healer in France.

June 2002 – Draco returns to England and begins his position at St Mungo’s. He is assigned as Harry's Healer.

Summer & Fall of 2002 – Harry gradually gets better and begins a relationship with Draco.

Spring 2003 – Harry and Draco move to a farmhouse together.

2006 – Unexpected begins.
